The (actually good) deals from the Amazon Summer of Sports sale - Wired.co.uk

Amazon is gearing up for better weather with a Summer of Sports sale. What we’ve found is, in fact, decent deals on smartphones, headphones, smartwatches, gaming PC cases and a whole host of other discounted accessories.

You might not find Nike, Adidas and the like here but quality headphones from Jabra, cut-price flagship phones from Xiaomi and useful battery packs from Anker are all bits of tech that wouldn’t go amiss on runs, hikes, long walks. And hey, you can watch sports on the Asus monitor we’ve picked out. That’s our explanation and we’re sticking to it. Enjoy these “sporty” deals.

Amazon Summer of Sports sale deals

£23 off Jabra Elite 45h wireless headphones, now £67: In recent years, Jabra has been one of the rare companies to challenge the big players like Sony, Apple and Bose in the headphone space – at the top and bottom end of the market. The Elite 45h lies in the latter, providing tremendous value for under £70. These compact on-ear headphones offer 50 hours of battery life, 40mm drivers and a stylish, understated look to boot. Currently our favourite wireless on-ears under £100.

£103 off Xiaomi Mi 10 128GB, now £425: Flagship phones are expensive but a clever way to get one in your pocket is to look to last year. The Mi 10 was released in 2020 and, even, has a quality successor in the Xiaomi Mi 11 (£600) but the passing time means you can get the older model at a reduced price – alongside this sale’s added discount. The Mi 10 features 128GB storage, a 6.81in AMOLED 90Hz display and Snapdragon 865 processor.

£7 off OtterBox Sleek Case for iPhone 12/12 Pro, now £12: The iPhone 12 is a gloriously designed device and you’d be remiss to bury it under a large phone case. Thankfully, companies like OtterBox offer slim options to protect your phone while not overshadowing its design. This Sleek case provides a soft protective bumper for comfortable use and raised sides for protecting the screen along with drop protection and support for wireless charging.

£69 off Corsair Carbide Series 678C ATX gaming PC case, now £111: Whether you’re building a PC for fun or to save a bit of cash, getting the right case is pivotal – while a decent discount is welcome too. This simple and sleek case offers extensive sound damping on the inside to keep noise low along with space for your choice of radiators and fans. With dimensions of 54.9 x 23.9 x 49.7cm, this case won’t take over your bedroom or office either.

£15 off Asus VP228DE 21.5in 1080p monitor, now £86: While this monitor may not be one for those taken by the gaming PC case above, it’s a solid pick in the current age of WFH. At under £90, you get a 1080p resolution in a decently sized 21.5in form factor and a 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio. This monitor is also TUV Rheinland-certified and features Asus Flicker Free and Low Blue Light tech – for easing the stress on your eyes during those long work sessions.

£46 off Oppo Watch smartwatch, now £183: If you’re looking for a smartwatch that looks a bit like a similar offering from a fruit-based company, and at a fraction of the price, Oppo has a strong contender here. Reduced to under £200 for the 41mm model, the Oppo Watch is a decent option for Android – with an AMOLED display, GPS, NFC and quick charge support. The overall design is understated and clean, with a stylish option of Pink, Black and Silver models.
