15 Sportsbikes That Aren’t Sporty At All | HotCars - HotCars

Sportsbikes have their own specific charm, not only do they offer brilliant style, they also promise exceptional performance. With brilliant looks and a massive engine on two wheels, they are irresistible and many are willing to overlook certain drawbacks.

Some bikes are notorious for being heavy and hard to handle. It is nothing new that a rookie rider will initially suffer with handling and controlling issues which makes sports bike a challenging drive. Despite being known for power and fierce styling, there are many of them that fail to deliver the muscle and sporty performance expected from a natural sportbike.

While many lack the traditional sports style there are also models with weak power underlying a hyped up motorcycle. A lack of crucial features makes buyers doubt the attached ‘sporty’ title. Sportbikes are not humble motorcycles nor are mild powers their attribute. Here are some sports models that are barely sporty at all!

The Aprilia RST1000 is a sports-tourer that was introduced as a part of the Italian company’s V-twin line. Although it has smart features and sleek styling, a dodgy V-twin just doesn’t offer enough oomph!

Suzuki’s GSXR1000 was once the flagship sportsbike in the world. It holds all the features of a sportsbike but compared to its several rivals, it lacks the sporty vigor that is recognized in present sportsbikes. With a 1.0-liter, inline-four, liquid cooled engine, the bike delivers 157-horsepower. It’s simply just not enough to get the blood pumping!

13 2005-2007 BMW R1200ST

bike-urious.com

While providing an interesting stretched out look initially, the lack of power is the BMW’s R1200ST ultimate downfall. The bike has a unique slim look that’s different from the traditional sportsbike, it is a variant of the BMW 1200 Boxer. However, with 110-horsepower, the BMW R1200 stands a weak chance against the more powerful rivals.

Yamaha has one of the most powerful production lines but it is not all perfect. The Fazer FI is gravely underpowered with little potential of a sports bike stored in a bulky, wide frame. Yamaha may have hyped up all the YZF-R6 in terms of its looks, but it didn’t offer any significant power to back those looks up. Yamaha’s YZF-R3 has extremely low performance for a sportsbike. A small two-cylinder engine with a displacement measuring only 321cc, the sporstbike is already in serious trouble.
