The Woldenberg Olympic Games
The Second World War meant no Olympic Games in 1940 or 1944. Except that an Olympic Games of sorts was held in 1944, in a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany. At their opening ceremony the PoW athletes raised an Olympic flag they’d made from a bedsheet and coloured scarves.
