A SPORTY 28-year-old man, a 40-year-old cycling enthusiast and a 38-year-old dad are among the young victims battling coronavirus in hospital.

The wife of one of the three warned younger Brits they aren't "invincible" to the deadly bug that is sweeping across the globe.

Anna Schuchman, 38, said her husband Daniel Schuchman is fighting for his life in Northwick Park Hospital in North West London.

The dad-of-four cycles 30 miles each Sunday, but has been in hospital for seven days and needs constant oxygen after being struck down with Covid-19.

The IT executive, who has no underlying health conditions, is now struggling to speak or walk and his family haven't seen him for seven days.

Anna told MailOnline: "There is a face and name behind every one of these statistics. Don’t think it will happen to you. Being fit and healthy and young is not a get-out clause.

'YOU'RE INFECTIOUS'

"Whether you are young or old, healthy or overweight, take this seriously.

"You’re infectious before you get hit. It’s invisible. You can’t see where you’re leaving your germs and you can infect lots of other people.

"I just want everyone to stay indoors."

Daniel was rushed to hospital after coming down with a fever and coughing the Sunday before last.

But by Tuesday he was "a shadow of himself" and "crumpled in his chair", Anna said.

She added: "The following day we rushed him to hospital and we haven’t seen him since."

It comes as the UK coronavirus death toll today hit 422 while cases climbed to 8,077.

Deaths jumped by 87 in 24 hours - the biggest daily increase yet.

Another 28-year-old coronavirus patient revealed the "cruel" disease nearly killed him within days of him becoming ill.

Micheal Prendergast, from Kerry in Ireland, developed shortness of breath, a sky-high temperature and convulsions.

While quarantined in hospital he began to question his own mortality, and believes he would have died without care.

He told Sky News: "It has been an ordeal that I will never forget and it brought about a lot of existential questions, being trapped in this isolated room.

"I thought that if my life ends now, have I been a good person, have I done enough in my life?"

He believes he probably caught coronavirus while working in London, but had no symptoms for the first few days.

He flew back to Ireland on March 16, but developed "horrific" symptoms the following day.

Michael was raced to Kerry General Hospital three days later and has been on a coronavirus ward in isolation for the last five days.

One distraught wife videoed herself begging people to stop going out during the coronavirus lockdown with her fit and healthy husband seriously ill in hospital with the deadly bug.

Catherine Brown brushed away tears during her emotional call for Brits to stay inside.

It comes as husband Damion, 38, is resisting medical advice to be put into a coma - in case he doesn't wake up.

Damion has previously recorded himself frantically trying to breathe in hospital before his condition worsened.

His wife says he is usually fit and strong - but is now finding it so hard to breathe, even with an oxygen mask, that doctors told him they need to fit a breathing tube.

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

She wept as she said: "I am just so scared in case they put him to sleep and that is it.

"When you have a family member fighting like this, nothing else matters.

"Please stop going outside. Don't give this to somebody else.

"I don't know why it's not sinking in with people.

"Somebody gave this to us or to me and I gave it to him, and they might have just given it to 100 other people - and that's really scary.

"I just want everybody to pray and send positive healing our way, because this is horrible.

"I can't even go and visit him and he's scared.

"It's been the worst week of my life."

The family's nightmare began 12 days ago when Damion, a warehouse manager, started showing symptoms.

He and Catherine went into isolation at their home near Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes, Bucks., with their four-year-old daughter and Damion's 14-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Damion and his wife, a school administrator, went to hospital when his symptoms worsened.

He was then tested for Covid-19.

'THIS IS NO JOKE'

Two days ago, Damion filmed himself in his isolation room at the hospital while awaiting his results.

Speaking through an oxygen mask, and clearly struggling to breathe, he urged people to stay safe.

He said: "A lot of people aren't taking this seriously and think this is a joke.

"This is no joke.

"I'm a fit person. I work out regularly.

"Did I expect this to be happening to me? No, I didn't.

"Everybody just needs to take this seriously and think about your families."

His wife recorded her video in a bid to encourage Brits to follow new restrictions introduced by Boris Johnson last night.

People have been banned from leaving their homes for non-essential reasons.

She said: "For those of you who think you're safe, that you're not vulnerable, that you won't be a risk to anyone, think again.

"This is my healthy, 38-year-old, gym-goer, non-smoking husband.

"His doctor analysed his chest X-ray. They said they want to put him to sleep so they can give him a breathing tube.
