Hyundai Motor Company continues its product and technology developments at full speed. The Elantra N Line, whose drawings were shared last month, was finally officially introduced. The N Line version, which is more sporty than the current version, displays a strong stance with its low and wide body.
Elantra, which is characterized by a special design and performance enhancing elements for the N Line, was developed by Hyundai's high-performance N brand. While the Elantra N Line produces 1.6 horsepower and 201 Nm of torque with its 265-liter GDI turbocharged gasoline engine, it can be preferred with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Offering a lively driving experience with its reinforced engine, the car promises superior handling with its 18-inch diameter wheels, multi-link independent rear suspension and larger brake discs. In addition, suspensions with increased stiffness for handling performance are some of the Elantra's various mechanical improvements.
Gear changes can be done manually with the paddles placed behind the steering wheel, and driver-oriented features such as the "Driving Mode" in the vehicle provide an impressive performance experience to the user. Interior design elements such as leather-covered and perforated N steering wheel with red stitching, leather-reinforced N sports seats, gear knob with metal materials and leather trim and matte chrome pedals also support the Elantra's sporty design.
The exterior design of the Elantra N Line also has a low and wide stance. The "Parametric Dynamic" design philosophy, the brand's new design strategy, definitely gives the new model a sophisticated sporty look. Elantra's new generation stepped front grille, N Line logos and bumper supported by geometric lines add a more aggressive look to the vehicle. While the air openings in the bumper support aerodynamic performance and engine cooling, it also adds a high-performance look to the vehicle.
The sporty sills of the Elantra N Line and the harsh lines on the doors offer an ambiance that is a mixture of fastback and sedan, while also easily emphasizing its low and wide aesthetics. In addition, the black plastic parts and colors used on the body, including the rims, serve to highlight the sporty elements. The rear spoiler, chrome dual-outlet exhaust and N Line rear diffuser contribute to the car's performance design.
Hyundai also offers N Project performance parts for those who want to further customize their Hyundai N Line models according to their preferences. N performance parts allow the current model to be even more dynamic.
Elantra Hybrid for fuel economy
Hybrid, the economical version of Elantra, will be sold primarily in Korea and then offered to customers in other markets. The Elantra Hybrid is equipped with a 1.6-liter GDI Atkinson cycle, four-cylinder petrol engine. The electric motor with magnet technology is powered by a 1,32 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery placed under the rear seats. The electric motor, which offers 32 kW of power with this battery, provides a total of 1.6 horsepower and 139 Nm of torque when combined with a 265-liter GDI engine. The highly efficient electric motor has an electric drive mode that provides instant torque at low speeds and provides extra power support at higher speeds.
Hyundai wants to further expand its performance range after the new Elantra N Line, and plans to launch the 2.5-liter turbocharged Sonata N Line very soon.
