A SPORTY N Line model will be joining the Hyundai Kona compact SUV range early in 2021.
The new version is arriving as the Korean car maker updates the entire Kona line up which will be available with both full and mild hybrid powertrains.
The N Line Kona will be priced from £23,590 and slots into the range above the entry level SE Connect version which costs from £21,060.
Prices top out from £25,960 for Ultimate specification versions while the Kona hybrid will be priced from £23,750 to £29,050.
Full performance details are still to be announced but the new range sees a 48-volt mild-hybrid 1.0-litre petrol engine developing 120ps used in manual models and a 1.6-litre unit mated to a 32kW electric motor with a six-speed dual clutch transmission in the more powerful hybrid Kona which has 141ps on tap.
Hyundai says the new cars are due for release from January 18 and all feature a restyled exterior, extra connectivity and technology and a revised suspension set up.
The N Line cars - available only with the mild-hybrid engine - have bolder styling with additional elements in the front air scoops, body coloured wheel arches while a diffuser is fitted at the back to aid aerodynamics.
Interior trim on the N Line versions includes red stitching, metal pedals and N badges on the gear lever and seats. Other features include an automatic dimming rear-view mirror, automatic windscreen wipers, USB ports for rear-seat occupants, rear parking sensors, and interior ambient lighting as well as electrically folding door mirrors.
The centre console display on the N Line also increases in size from an eight-inch screen to 10.25-inch and incorporates touchscreen satellite navigation and Hyundai's Bluelink smartphone connectivity system.
All models in the new Kona range now have a leading vehicle departure alert system which alerts the driver if they do not react fast enough when the vehicle ahead of them starts moving and lane following assist which automatically adjusts the steering to assist the driver to keep in the centre of the lane.
A forward collision avoidance device is standard as is a rear seat alert system which warns if something is in the back seat when they go to leave the vehicle.
